Our second vintage is 100% Pinot Noir and produced saignee method, consisting of 70% Carneros and 30% Russian River fruit. It was harvested between September 7th to September 10th 2013. After the grape clusters were destemmed the juice remained in contact with the skins for only a few hours. The wine was cold fermented in small stainless steel barrels, where it aged until bottling in February 2014.
The 2013 Promise Rosé, "The Joy” catches your eye with a beautiful bright, pink salmon hue. The bouquet is delicate yet complex, with notes of rose petal and elderberry flower, complemented by sweet and mineral components reminiscent of stone fruits. The palate is bursting with layered flavors of fleshy peach, flavorful melon, and tangy apricot characteristics that deliver a juicy intensity, while the lively acidy brings a lasting citrus finish. With it lingering on the palate, you canʼt help but 'joyfully' pour another glass. Fire up the grill or smoker, and serve it with grilled peach, juicy pulled pork and a summer fruit cobbler.
